Simulcast on ADN

“Sword of the Demon Hunter” is directed by Kazuya Aiura (“Assassins Pride”) and produced by Studio Yokohama Animation Lab. Hitomi Mieno (“Tales of Wedding Rings”) is composing the series, while Tarou Ikegami (“Legend of Mana”) is creating the character design.

The main roles are played by Taku Yashiro (Itsuki Akazawa in “The Angel Next Door”) as Jinta and Reina Ueda (Elizabeth Ashley in “The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent”) as Suzune. The series will be simulcast on ADN in the original Japanese language with English subtitles.

The anime adapts the original light novel of the same name by Motoo Nakanishi, which went on sale in Japan between June 2019 and November 2023. A manga adaptation by Yuu Satomi has been published in “Gekkan Action” magazine since September 2021.

In the Edo period, there was a shrine maiden in the mountain village of Kadono. Jinta, a young man who acts as her guardian, encounters a mysterious demon in the nearby forest who speaks of the distant future. From the Edo to the Heisei era, the story follows a man who travels through time, repeatedly asking the question of the meaning of sword-wielding.
